1. About Mingles
Mingles is a curated, verified singles community based in Australia, built around in-person wine party events (held roughly every three weeks) and this companion website. The website is operated by Mingles Australia (ABN 22 862 328 197). The website lets people who have engaged with our events browse pre-verified member profiles and express interest through our credit-based like, accept, flirting, and contact-reveal process. By creating an account or using the website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, and you must be legally single — not married, in a registered relationship, or in a de facto or civil partnership — for as long as you remain a member. You may hold only one account, and the information you provide (including your birth year, gender, occupation, region, and relationship status) must be accurate. We may suspend or remove accounts that we reasonably believe are fake, duplicate, or misrepresenting the account holder. You must not use Mingles for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable Australian law. Providing false, inaccurate, or misleading information — including about your age, identity, or relationship status — may result in your application being rejected (see Section 4) or your account being suspended or terminated (see Section 10). If we determine that you knowingly misrepresented your relationship or marital status to join Mingles, we may also pursue legal action against you for any resulting loss, damages, or harm to Mingles or other members.
3. Verification and Badges
Every guest at a Mingles event passes an occupation and identity check before attending. Profiles display a "Party Attendee" badge for members who have attended an event, plus one badge for each verification category a member has completed — Identity, Occupation, Income, Asset, and Charm. Each verification badge is granted automatically once a Mingles administrator approves the supporting documents you submitted for that category; badges reflect the outcome of our verification process at a point in time — they are not a guarantee of a member's current circumstances, intentions, or safety, and you should still exercise your own judgement, including when meeting anyone in person.
4. Account Registration and Approval
There are two ways to join Mingles. If you attended one of our events, an administrator may create your profile from our attendee records and email you a one-time claim link — because you were already vetted in person, your account becomes active as soon as you claim it. If you sign up directly on the website, your account starts in pending review after you complete your profile, and does not gain access to member features until a Mingles administrator approves it. We may reject an application, at our discretion, including where: the information you provided appears false, incomplete, or inconsistent; you do not appear to meet the eligibility requirements in Section 2, including the minimum age; a verification photo or link you provided cannot be confirmed; or we otherwise consider it necessary to protect the community. No credits are charged before your account is approved, and a rejected application does not entitle you to any credits or refund.
5. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. For members whose profile was created by an administrator from our event attendee records, we will send a one-time link to set your own password and activate the account — this link expires and can only be used once.
6. Credits and Payment
Sending a like, accepting a like, revealing a match's contact details, sending a flirting message, and requesting that another member reveal additional photos each cost credits, at rates shown in your dashboard (rates may change at any time). Applying to join a Lounge club (1:1 or 2:2) also costs credits, charged when you apply — if the club organiser has not approved or rejected your application within 72 hours, the application is automatically declined and your credits are refunded in full; the same refund happens if the organiser rejects your application directly, or if the organiser deletes the club before approving anyone. A 2:2 club that has not been fully filled by its scheduled date and time is automatically cancelled, and every approved (and any still-pending) applicant is refunded in full — the organiser's own participation is never charged, so there is nothing to refund for them. A photo-reveal request is refunded in full if the other member declines it, doesn't respond within 7 days, or if we remove a photo they shared under Section 10. You can buy credits by card (Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay) through our payment processor, Stripe, in Australian dollars, or by transferring funds to our nominated bank account or PayID using your member reference, which an administrator manually confirms before adding the credits to your balance. Credits are not refundable except as described above, where required by law, or at our discretion; they have no cash value and cannot be transferred between accounts.
7. Acceptable Use
When using Mingles you must not: harass, threaten, or abuse other members; impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation; use the platform to solicit money, sell products or services, or run any commercial activity unrelated to Mingles; post or send unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate content; attempt to circumvent the credit system, verification process, or these Terms; or provide false, inaccurate, or misleading information about yourself when registering or at any time afterwards.
8. Exchanging Contact Details
Once you and another member have matched — through a like that has been accepted, or through a flirting message — the only sanctioned way to exchange personal contact information on Mingles is the contact-reveal feature, which shares your phone numbers with each other only when you or your match choose to use it and the applicable credits have been paid. You must not share, request, or solicit phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles, messaging-app IDs, or any other means of off-platform contact through flirting messages, club (Lounge) chat, photo captions, your self-introduction, or any other free-text field. Deliberately obscuring contact details to evade this rule — for example by spelling them out, splitting them across messages, or embedding them in an image — is treated the same way. This protects members from unwanted contact and keeps the matching process consistent for everyone. Breaching this section is a violation of these Terms and may result in your messages being removed, your account being restricted or suspended, or, for serious or repeated breaches, your account being permanently terminated under Section 10, without a refund of unused credits.
9. Content You Submit
You retain ownership of the profile information, photos, and bio you submit. By submitting them, you grant Mingles a licence to store and display that content to other members in line with the visibility rules described in our Privacy Policy (for example, photos and your self-introduction are shown only to logged-in members). You are responsible for making sure you have the right to share anything you upload, including photos.
10. Moderation, Suspension, and Termination
We review reported content, and our administrators may access profile and account activity for moderation purposes. At our discretion, and with or without prior notice, we may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate an account that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms — including false or misleading information discovered after approval, unlawful conduct, behaviour that raises safety concerns for other members or at an event, or misuse of the credit system. This includes individual photos: if a photo shared through a photo-reveal request doesn't meet these Terms, we may remove it, and we refund the credits the requesting member paid in full regardless of the reason for removal. This may include disabling your profile and, where we consider it appropriate, deleting your account and associated data. We do not refund unused credits where the breach is serious or repeated. See Section 4 for how applications are reviewed before an account is approved.
11. In-Person Events
Mingles wine party events are subject to their own event-specific terms and venue rules, communicated separately when you register to attend. We are not responsible for the conduct of other attendees at events or for interactions that occur outside the website, and we encourage you to take normal personal-safety precautions when meeting anyone from the platform.
12. Disclaimers
Mingles is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that you will form any particular connection, relationship, or match, and we do not guarantee the accuracy of information other members provide about themselves. Verification reduces but does not eliminate risk, and nothing on the platform is a substitute for your own judgement.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mingles is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the website or attendance at our events. Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer guarantee or right under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example as we add features like card payments. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do; continuing to use Mingles after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
